The Detroit Red Wings announced on Monday that forward Gustav Nyquist has been callled up from the Grand Rapids Griffins.
The move was made possible by the Red Wings sending Fabian Brunnstrom to Grand Rapids after he cleared waivers earlier in the day.
Nyquist had a strong training camp and preseason with the Red Wings. He has nine points (four goals, five assists) in nine games with the Griffins this season, good for second on the team.
He will be available for Tuesday’s home game against the Minnesota Wild.
