Detroit has played back-to-back games in December with the first one being a loss on Saturday 54 times.

Prior to this weekend, the only times their first opponent had previously relocated were both in 2009, when they played the New Jersey Devils (former Colorado Rockies and Kansas City Scouts) on the 5th and the Dallas Stars (former Minnesota North Stars) on the 19th.

The New Jersey loss was followed by a win over the New York Rangers in blue while the Dallas loss was followed by a loss to the Chicago Blackhawks in red.
