Stupid Stat of the Day: The Red Wings are winless all-time in the month of December when playing their first game back home after six on the road and the sixth of that set was in Chicago.

The only time this has happened was in 1991, when the Red Wings dropped their New Years Eve game to the Boston Bruins after wrapping up six consecutive road games in Chicago on December 29.
Detroit is unbeaten in this scenario in any other month. On March 14, 1957, they beat the Black Hawks after a six-game trip that ended in Chicago (and included back-to-back games in Boston and two separate trips to New York). On November 30, 1961, Detroit beat Boston after coming back from a trip that started and ended in Chicago and hit all of the rest of the Original Six in between.
