The Detroit Red Wings announced the exhibition schedule for their centennial season on Tuesday.
As has become the norm, the schedule features home and away matchups against the Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Toronto Maple Leafs as six of the eight games.
The fourth set of games is a home and away set against the Buffalo Sabres. Last season the Red Wings visited the Sabres but hosted the Ottawa Senators. For the two seasons prior to that, Detroit’s fourth opponent was the Washington Capitals, with the New York Islanders and Boston Bruins also filling that slot in recent years.
The visit to Buffalo is a rare preseason afternoon game, starting at 3:00 PM.
