  • The Red Wings close out their four-game (or five-game, if you count the one in Montreal before the All-Star break, but no one does) road trip tonight in Phoenix. They’re looking for the season sweep against the Coyotes in what could possibly be Detroit’s last trip to Glendale (yeah, again).

Joey MacDonald gets the start in goal for the Wings, with Ty Conklin once again relegated to backup. MacDonald stopped 22 of 23 in 45 minutes of play in Edmonton on Saturday so it make sense to give him another shot, but this doesn’t look good for Conklin.

On defense, Brad Stuart has the flu but is still probable for tonight. If he can’t go, both Jakub Kindl and Mike Commodore will play.

Game time is 8:00 on NBC Sports Network.

I might miss this one or not post during it, busy night.

  • Checking at the start of the third. I caught the first two on the radio and didn’t really miss anything. Yotes are up by two, we look lazy, and White has had a rough night. It would be nice to end the road trip with a W.

  • Clark, you were correct with your assessment of who got the start in net.

  • No real postgame notes from me. I’m just going to say that a giveaway in the neutral zone with an empty net kind of sums up the game as a whole. It was the mistakes that punctuated this one. A little too slow, a little too sloppy.
