  • The Red Wings return home from their four-game road trip tonight, hosting the Phoenix Coyotes.

Detroit forward Pavel Datsyuk will be a game-time decision, having missed Tuesday’s loss to the New York Islanders with a groin injury. If he’s unable to go, Jan Mursak will make his first appearance of the season, having been called back up from his conditioning stint with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

On defense, Mike Commodore will sit, still bothered by a sore foot after blocking a shot in Chicago on Sunday. This leaves Jakub Kindl as the sixth defenseman.

Jimmy Howard will start in goal after two consecutive starts for Ty Conklin.

Game time is 7:30 PM. TV is FSD.

I’ll miss most (if not all) of this one as I’ve got a 7:50 soccer game.

  • I got back in time to catch the final minutes of the third, OT, and the shootout. Not going to try to give full postgame thoughts because of it.

That said, I can’t be the only one who saw Zetterberg shooting fourth, looked at his shooting percentage, and thought “aww f*ck.” Glad I was wrong.

    Hola!

No thoughts on the Hudler attempt, though? I don’t have accurate words for that so I hope this picture will suffice

  • The choice of Hudler I don’t have a problem with, he’s traditionally decent in the shootout. His choice… Uncharacteristic.
