On October 27, 1982, the Red Wings beat the Blues, 5-4, after having dropped a 7-4 decision to the Philadelphia Flyers on October 24. The Wings have actually beaten St. Louis every time they’ve met in Detroit after allowing exactly seven goals (it also happened in November 2018) but I added the October restriction because it sounds even more absurd.
