The Red Wings tied the St. Louis Blues, 1-1, while wearing a 50th anniversary patch for their home opener in 1975. They tied the Minnesota North Stars, 6-6, while wearing a 60th anniversary patch for their home opener in 1985. While wearing their short-lived 75th anniversary patch in 2000, they lost to the Edmonton Oilers, 4-3.
