Red Wings Pick Lucas Raymond Fourth Overall

After months of waiting, the Detroit Red Wings selected forward Lucas Raymond with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Raymond was one of the fastest risers in pre-draft rankings as the draft was delayed.  In four games this season with Frolunda of the Swedish Elite League, Raymond already has two points.

I’d convinced myself that any of Perfetti, Raymond, or Rossi would be a fine choice at fourth overall.  I’m not going to split hairs over which would have been better at this point.

The Red Wings are next scheduled to pick at 32nd overall, the first pick of tomorrow’s second round.
