The abbreviated 2013 NHL schedule has not yet been made public but the Macomb Daily’s Chuck Pleiness says the Red Wings will open with a pair of Central Division road games.
According to Pleiness, the Red Wings will visit the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, January 19, to open the season. Two nights later they’ll visit the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch had previously stated that the Blues would host Detroit to open the season.
In the original 2012-13 schedule, the Wings were to visit the Blues on January 20.
