• Hell of a job by Homer to get his stick on that and pull it back in. Very nice.

  • Damn, too bad that rebound went in, the first stop was fantastic.

Kronwall and Stuart both miss the guy behind the net to make that happen. Ugly.

  • I didn’t see any of Nashville’s comeback so I don’t have much to say about this game. And I’m exhausted from a brutal but insanely fun soccer game so I’ll make this quick.

End to end action in the first period didn’t favor Detroit. The Wings are the more skilled team and back and forth like that just gave Nashville more chances than they should have gotten.

Detroit picked things up in the second and dominated for about 15 minutes. Then they did what they seemingly always do, they sat back on their two-goal lead.

No comment on the third, other than the tying goal coming on a Predators’ power play after Paul Woods spent much of the second talking about how disciplined Detroit had been.

  • The Red Wings visit Nashville tonight, with the big news for Detroit being that Chris Conner will miss two weeks with a hand injury.

Conner had performed admirably during a six-game call-up from the Grand Rapids Griffins, cementing himself on the third line and penalty kill while notching a goal and two assists.

Conner’s injury means Cory Emmerton – a healthy scratch of late – will get back into the lineup, skating on the fourth line with Justin Abdelkader and Tomas Holmstrom. Drew Miller will move up to Conner’s spot on the third line.

With Conner on short-term IR and another un-named Red Wing ailing, Tomas Tatar was called up from the Griffins. He’s not expected to play tonight and should be returned to the AHL, as coach Mike Babcock said that everyone not on IR (Conner, Jan Mursak and Patrick Eaves) would be ready to go tonight.

Emmerton-for-Conner is the only expected lineup change, meaning Mike Commodore is still the odd-man out on the blue line. Jimmy Howard will get the start.
