Red Wings superstar goaltender Dominik Hasek has been hospitalized in the Czech Republic, suffering from an unknown virus.

Hasek reportedly showed signs of being ill upon his return to his homeland following a trip to the United States to speak to the press about his recent trade to the Red Wings.

“He came down with a bug and they couldn’t identify it,” Rich Winter, Hasek’s agent, said. “They’ve done all the necessary tests and there doesn’t appear to be anything seriously wrong with Dominik.”

“They’re being very careful with it. We don’t expect any ongoing problem. He’s in good spirits.”
