I’m not going to waste my time recapping a game the Red Wings didn’t deserve to get a point from.
If a team is going to collapse into defense-only play to preserve a third-period lead, they’d damn well better succeed at preserving that lead. Detroit stopped playing offense Thursday night and still managed to blow their lead. What a mess.
Just a reminder, the Red Wings’ game tonight against the Calgary Flames has a 7:00 PM start, not the 7:30 PM we’re all used to.
Detroit will be going with a similar lineup to what they used against Phoenix on Tuesday. Brett Lebda is back in on the blue line, replacing Chris Chelios.
Ty Conklin gets his second start in a row and coach Mike Babcock changes up his goalie rotation. Conklin’s home winning streak will be tested tonight while Chris Osgood‘s superior record against the St. Louis Blues will be taken advantage of on Saturday.
Marian Hossa remains out, aiming for a Saturday return.
