The Detroit Red Wings announced on Monday the signing of restricted free agent forward Tomas Tatar to a three-year deal.

As per club policy, financial terms of the contract were not formally announced. Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports it carries an average annual salary of $2.75 million.

Tatar scored 19 goals and added 20 assists for 39 points in 73 games last season for the Red Wings, his first full year with the club. After starting the season as a healthy scratch, he spent much of the year on the makeshift second line with Riley Sheahan and Tomas Jurco as injuries plagued the team.

He also represented Slovakia at the Olympics, scoring a goal and an assist in four games.

Tatar was selected in the second of the 2009 NHL entry draft by the Red Wings, 60th overall.

With Tatar’s signing, Detroit’s the only restricted free agent left for the Red Wings to sign is defenseman Danny DeKeyser.
