It looks like Zetterberg will give it a shot tonight, after sitting out this morning with the flu. In the most-hyped game in awhile, the Wings will have their full lineup.
Hasek gets the start with Ray Emery going for Ottawa.
I’ve got this feeling that if you were looking for a game to bet against the Wings on, this would be it.
I miss getting CBC, I haven’t had it since I moved across town a couple years ago. Ken and Mickey are great but I’d love to see what someone else has to say about the officiating.
HASEK is looking bad ….. from my vantage point {haha} he should have had that one.

Well, I do enjoy HNIC …… and CHERRY is a hoot ….. his suits … his commentary, especially the banter between him and the other guy in COACH’S CORNER (don’t know the name of the other guy) .. anyway, I feel fortunate to get another hockey channel besides FSN-D and Versus.

By the way, the CBC HNIC play-by-play announcer reminds me alot of BUD LYNCH, the old-time RED WING announcer.
Does anyone here remember the voice of BUD LYNCH?
I know no one here will remember FOSTER HEWETT, the old time HNIC announcer, from many, many years ago. But, I Do. I’m talking the early to mid 60s and maybe into the early 70s. Guess that really dates me.
Wings defense with bad giveaways and offense isn’t getting any good shots.
Really, really odd that the goalie interference wasn’t called when Dom got knocked down but was when it was Emery in the first.
If that would have been Homer hitting Emery it would have been a penalty

As for the game already being lost … well, unfortunately I tend to believe you. But this should be a good TEST for the RED WINGS …. Top Team in the Eastern Conference ….. OTTAWA is still only 10 points behind the RED WINGS in total points, but they’ve also played 3 games less ……so, if Ottawa can pick up 2 here and a few more in their game played deficit, they will threaten Detroit’s point standing.
Well, so far it definitely looks like OTTAWA wants this win more than the RED WINGS. WINGS seem off balance due to effective pressure on all sides by the SENS. The WINGS don’t go down 2 goals very often. Bad feeling here.

Up to this point the SENS have done yeomans’ work in shutting down the WINGS machine coming thru the middle … a lot like the old NJ DEVILS trap ….. lets see how the WINGS can adjust now that they are back in the game …..
Since the goal, the Wings look a lot better.

3-2 Ottawa is actually the score I predicted earlier when asked elsewhere. I wasn’t going to mention it because I didn’t want it to come true.
Well, looking at it again, SPEZZA did make a good screen. LIDSTROM in the box too, which is a rarity.
I’ll give DOM the benefit of the doubt, He earlier made a game saver ….
I’ll say it again, This was a great game, at a great time in the season. Lets see how each team adjusts to the other’s great play.
We may see both teams again on the rink together at the same time.

Mickey’s having fun with the weak calls. With the hooks that have been called, I’m surprised they didn’t call interference when Cleary was held up after dumping it in on that second Sens PP.
For once the stupid calls seem to be going against both teams. I have to admit Mickey has been pretty funny tonight!

OK …. you would have had to give me an Ottawa win by two goals anyway. I only say this because of the SENS PP goal after only a minute into the game.
and, as for the calls so far, MICKEY R is 100% correct —- pure garbage.

What goof-ball Don Cherry is … hehe. But you have to love him too, especially his attire …. He wore some multi colored suit during the broadcast a few weeks ago. Looked liked a used car saleman to the third degree. Too funny.
