Streaking Wings Back Atop Central

201

The leapfrogging continues as the Wings jumped back ahead of St. Louis for the lead in the Central Division with a 3-1 win in Anahiem while the Blues fell to Edmonton. Detroit is as hot as any team in the NHL has been this season, going undefeated in twelve games – or the entire month of February. Should Detroit manage to stretch this streak through next week – which includes a Saturday afternoon matchup with the Blues – it will be a new team record of sixteen games. The first shot at stretching it is tonight in Phoenix.

Several minor deal have happened across the league, including Ottawa picking up Eric Lacroix from the Rangers for Colin Forbes and Carolina getting potential UFA Scott Pellerin from Minnesota for prospect Askhat Rakhmatullin and a third-round draft pick in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

I never got that multimedia update done and it’s been pushed aside for at least a week, but it’s still a priority. Expect some changes in drwcentral.net across the next week, I’ll be doing some work on the site while I’m on break from classes.

Clark founded the site that would become DetroitHockey.Net in September of 1996 with no idea what it would lead to. He continues to write for the site and executes the site's design and development.
