The Red Wings appear in their fourth home opener in five games tonight, visiting Glendale for the Phoenix Coyotes' first true home game of the season.
The Coyotes are coming off of a split of their NHL Premiere season-opening series in Prague against the Boston Bruins.
Detroit is expected to ice 17 skaters tonight, as they're too close to the cap to call up a replacement for Johan Franzen. Justin Abdelkader did take the morning skate but the team has not said whether he would be able to go tonight.
