DETROIT, Michigan -- Detroit defenseman Niklas Kronwall will return to the Red Wings' lineup on Tuesday as the Phoenix Coyotes visit Joe Louis Arena.
The team announced on Monday that Kronwall, who has been out since November 21 after a knee-on-knee hit from Montreal's Georges Laraque, will rejoin defense partner Brad Stuart on the second blueline pairing and will take his usual place on the point with the second power play unit.
Kronwall's return comes along with the news that defenseman Andreas Lilja hasn't experienced a headache in 13 days. Lilja, who hasn't played in a year with post-concussion symptoms, needs to go 14 days without a headache to be cleared to begin full-contact practices. He is hopeful that he could return to the lineup soon.
Tomas Holmstrom, out with a broken foot since early this month, is targeting this week for a return. Jason Williams hopes to return from his fractured fibula in early Feburary.
Johan Franzen, originally expected to be out until March, could return on the same West Coast road trip as Williams.
Quick reminder, it's a Versus game tonight so we have a 7:00 start. I'll be catching the opening period on the radio it seems.
How's that for being the best? These VS announcers annoy me (except when D-Mac is on!
. They were ragging on our top line for not being 'the best'. Then Rafalski to Zata to Datsyuk. It was beautiful. Kronwall looks good too, already laying down the body.
Although the versus guys were picking on our top line, the truth is they are right, they need to step it up and start scoring more. Hopefully they will continue what they started this game and carry it on through the rest of the year. Kronwall looks real good for the first game back
Keep giving them power plays...
Actually, Howard should have been able to cover the first chance. Then it was Howard's glove that deflected it in on the rebound.

I know this...I still don't like listening to them, almost as much as I hate listening to Pierre McGuirre, even when it's not a Wings game. It was just a good time for our top line to show what they are made of...they produced and that is what matters most.
well, thats officially 5 out of the last 6 we gave up two goal leads to f*cken lose. f*ck f*ck f*ck...after all that they give the yotes the two points..words cant express my despair right now
still get a point i guess all that matters. We are still in the hunt. Not looking like a powerhouse anymore.
