Just in case you wanted to take any positives away from the Red Wings' comeback loss to the Oilers on Thursday night, don't.
Talk about gutsy play and coming behind all you want but right now I'd trade that for a healthy Valtteri Filppula. Ansar Khan reports that Filppula will miss six-to-eight weeks with a broken wrist.
So do you split up Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg so each can center his own line? Try Darren Helm or Kris Draper or Justin Abdelkader on the second line?
Me? I just go to bed, it's too late at night to worry about this.
The Red Wings look to extend their road winning streak to a season-high two games tonight as they visit the Edmonton Oilers.
Detroit's only lineup change looks to be swapping out Kirk Maltby and Justin Abdelkader for Darren Helm and Patrick Eaves. Jimmy Howard will start in goal after coming in early in the first period Tuesday in Vancouver.
The Oilers are reeling from the flu going through their dressing room. Mike Comrie and Lubomir Visnovsky are both out and Edmonton's lines have been shaken up.
Game time is 9:30. I'm not yet sure how much of the game I'll be around for.
Hey all! Sorry I have not been around as I have been slammed at work for the past month. Tonight we take on the flu infested Oilers in Edmonton and God willing we will start a nine gmae win streak. It will be interesting to see how hot Dats and Howie are tonight!
Go Wings!
I don't even know what to say about that goal.
f*ck!!! That didn't take long! Come on Howie, can you stay in the friggin net?
Well, it's safe to say so far Howard isn't playing as stellar as Tuesday.
Didn't Osgood get pulled for almost the same thing?
That's what I was thinking!
I was afraid that was going to go in...and it did. Osgood time?
They just advertised a Detroit player getting a hat trick, and I honestly laughed out loud.
And another Oilers goal. Now we can lose hope!
Helm! Well, one goal is better than a shut out ![]()
The next three goals are huge.
One down, two more to go? Haha.
Good thing that ref was right there to know the puck wasn't covered. Wouldn't want a quick whistle.
i dont know if enough players were in the crease....may have had room for 2 more.

Line from A2Y. About how the Wings can't hold a one goal lead so it's not "The next goal is huge."
Heh, finally get a crazy lucky bounce but it's way too late. Don't want to waste that luck right now.

That is pure gold!
Lots of posts there. The cost of that kind of luck earlier.
Howard making the saves now, and May had a glorious chance. Maybe the Wings are still alive.
I just saw Zetterberg out there with Williams. Do the Wings even have lines right now or are they just throwing whoever they can over the boards?
TIE GAME! Patrick Eaves!
I never imagined this at the end of the first!
Congrats to Eaves!
I can't believe the Wings are getting a point out of this. Lets see if they can make it two.
It's good I got 14 hours of sleep last night ![]()
Shootout? Can't we just call this a tie? After a game like this, it's stupid to go to the gimmick.
Hahahaha, the Oiler's announcer really cracks me up!
"Khabibuuuuuullllllliiiiiinnnnnn"
He just did it again! LMAO.
And this is a weird shootout.
See what I mean about that game ending a tie? Neither team deserved the extra point tonight but the Oilers are out there celebrating like they didn't blow a 4-0 lead.
Oh well, it was still an interesting game!
I mean, it was bad for the Wings to start off so badly and it was terrible for the Oilers to give up that lead. So I don't know which is worse.
I think the Wings need a better strategy then coming back from behind, though! I hope this pattern stops.
Crap. I DVRed the game and didn't start watching it until 12am. I almost fast-forwarded to the end when we were sitting down 0-4. I'm glad I didn't, but as soon as it went to a S/O I knew that was it for us. Too bad I stayed up until 2am watching a game we lost, but at least we pulled a point out of it.
Sucks to sh*t about val breaking his wrist, that's the last thing we needed right now, more injuries.
