Misconduct

Bowman to the Blackhawks?

Kukla and Bill say that the Chicago Blackhawks will annouce Scotty Bowman as Senior Advisor, Hockey Operations, at a press conference this afternoon.

After months of rumors that he was headed to Toronto, another O6 rival picks him up.

I was under the impression that he was under contract with the Wings so I don't know what happened with that but Chicago makes the most sense for Bowman as his son Stan is with the organization.

Not entirely happy about this, of course. Very susprised so I don't have much more reaction.

Kind of a kick in the balls.

This move actually will hurt his image in my opinion. Everyone looks at Scotty Bowman and thinks that he is able to produce Stanley Cup winning teams. Even I could go to Chicago and look brilliant, the team is completely set up for the near now and future. They have prospects coming up out the ying yang. I call that a Phil Jackson move!

Anyway, my opinion, goe somewhere that needs work and that will prove your worth. Or stay with the wings! He just wants to prosper off of the work that has already been done by their existing management/GM. And he'll end up with more credit than the GM when the media hits this...

I just heard it on the news. =/ Sucks kinda. Oh well. The Hawks will never ever EVER be the Wings.

Since I'm not the smartest person, I have nothing further to say

I don't think it hurts his credibility because he went to be with his son. Hard to turn that down. Did going to the WHA to play with his sons hurt Gordie Howe?

And it turns out he never had a contract with Detroit. Just a good-faith agreement.

The Wings will be fine through this, they don't need Bowman because they've built an entire organization around his principles. I just don't like Chicago getting him.

As a Leafs fan, I don't really care where he goes. I'm really hoping for Burke. By law, I'm not to like Ottawa, Montreal or Detriot... SORRY!

I personally think Burke is way overrated - he took over a team in Anaheim that was already very good and had a lot of talent. He never drafted Getzlaf, Perry, Penner - although he did make the trade for Pronger. If I was in charge in Toronto I would pay whatever it cost to obtain Ken Holland or Lou Lamarello from New Jersey. Both those guys have proven they can draft well and build a winner, year in, year out. As a guy who hates the Leafs, I am happy with how terrible they are and am even happier knowing that the front office they have right now has no idea how to build a winner.
