Nope. No analysis from me this time.
The way I see it, the Wings five-game losing streak has had three kinds of games. Against the Kings and Maple Leafs, Detroit just played like crap. Against Anaheim they were robbed of what should have been the tying goal. Then against the Predators and Blue Jackets, they just didn't play defense.
I had predicted an end to the streak tonight. Obviously I was wrong. No more predictions from me.
I'm still not worried about this slump. I'll worry after the Colorado game on Monday.
A few requisite thoughts on the game itself...
The first Columbus goal should have been goalie interference, Modin had his stick on Osgood (not that I think Osgood would have gotten it anyway). Similarly, the Maltby goalie interference call later was surprising.
The Wings play better in front of Howard than Osgood right now, I might start him in Dallas if I were Mike Babcock.
Kyle Quincey is up to play Columbus with the Wings keeping Brian Rafalski out of the lineup with a sore groin.
On a better note, Niklas Kronwall hopes to play in Dallas on Sunday.

The second one is much more better. I hope Rafalski gets better. I strongly dislike Kyle Quincey. D:
HAPPY V DAY!
(and national I Hate Taylor day) ![]()
FYI for those who'll be hanging out here during the game, I'll be missing most (if not all) of it live. Big group dinner tonight. Fun stuff. Even with Raffy out, I'm predicting the losing streak ends.
Another 3-0 deficit before the first period is over.
I hope they put Howard in for Osgood.
Osgood again having problems. 3 goals on 9 shots in the 1st period. 6 goals on 13 shots in his last 28 minutes. The WINGS unable to get their offense going. CBJ putting lots of pressure on the WING defense.
Why won't they let Zetterburg and Pavel together?!!?!?!?!
WE NEED THE POWER LINE!
Now we need Aaron Downey.
Go beat up Rick Nash.
& then we acquire Sergei Fedorov at the deadline!!!!
I believe that was Pavel Datsyuk ![]()
Man, is that man stellar! ;o
edit;; This furthers my proof of why I supported Hasek when Osgood was doing well. THE TABLES HAVE TURNED!
Less than a minute to go, the score is five - one.
Yet I still have faith in humanity. I don't understand! ![]()
(I like being melodramatic)
