Osgood in Against Sharks
The San Jose Mercury News has some interesting news about the Wings' lineup for Thursday's matchup: Chris Osgood will be the starting goaltender.
It was assumed that Hasek would get the start and that Osgood might play in Phoenix. IIRC, Osgood got shelled in an early-season game in San Jose last season (or was that the year before?).
Also noted is that neither Nicklas Lidstrom nor Henrik Zetterberg practiced on Wednesday. They'll be game-time decisions on Thursday.

From practice today it was announced that Lidstrom and Zetterberg will both play tonight. That'll help the Wings a bit I'd think.

I'd love to comment on the Grier goal but it happened right when they decided to interrupt and tell me there was a tornado across the county from me. I'll have to replay it later.

Nice, San Jose already getting away with interference and injuring Red Wings. Must be nice to be one of the league's favorite teams.

Great passing and patience leading to the 5-on-3 goal. Another case where something that's gone against Detroit this season went for them, with the broken-stick slashing call.
