Coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens, the Red Wings host the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight in Detroit’s “Hockey Fights Cancer” game.
As part of the event, goalie Jimmy Howard will wear a pink-accented mask.
The Penguins are coming off a 5-3 loss last night to the cross-state rival Philadelphia Flyers, in which they also debuted a unique piece of game-wear – their new throwback alternate jerseys.
The Red Wings will be rolling the same lineup as they used in Montreal, with only Gustav Nyquist and Tomas Jurco swapped on the power play units.
Stupid stat of the day: The Red Wings are 21-9-6 all-time in the regular season against the Penguins at Joe Louis Arena.
Game time is 7:30 on FSD.
