Pregame: Blues @ Red Wings – 2/13

299

Six days after the Red Wings handed the Blues a 5-1 loss in St. Louis, the teams are back at it for their fourth of five meetings on the season, this time back in Detroit.

When the teams met last week, both were on short losing streaks and missing a goalie. The Red Wings started rookie Petr Mrazek in his first NHL game and cruised to the win. Detroit has won all of their games since while the Blues have yet to snap out of their slump. The Blues will employ the same method as the Wings did a week ago in looking for help, with AHL call-up Jake Allen making his first career NHL start in net tonight.

The Red Wings will stick with the same lineup that beat Edmonton and Los Angeles in 25 hours over the weekend, though there had been talk that Patrick Eaves would find his way back in.

Random Stat: The Red Wings are 1249-1012-366 when playing on two days’ rest.

Game time tonight is 7:30 PM on NBCSN.

Update: Per the Macomb Daily’s Chuck Pleiness, Johan Franzen is out tonight with a hip injury and Patrick Eaves will indeed play.
