Bertuzzi’s Game-Winner a Lucky Break for Wings

225

This shouldn’t matter because the Red Wings should have had several more goals tonight, but I can’t believe Todd Bertuzzi’s third-period goal counted.

Any of Johan Franzen’s chances early on go in and that goal doesn’t matter but in the end it did matter and it did count, and while I’m pleased with the result I disagree with the call.

Obviously, I can’t say for certain that Bertuzzi intentionally deflected the puck in with his skate. I just think that there was more of a “distinct kicking motion” there than we’ve seen on other goals that went disallowed this season.

I missed a lot of the game so I won’t try to recap all of it, that goal just sticks with me pretty strongly.
