  • They know exactly what the Wings’ weaknesses are and are deffinitely capitalizing on their opportunities. I know the Av’s focus for the second period is to get Joseph moving side to side and just rip shots off at him. Wings forwards better step up to the plate and take some hits and the D has to stop chasing the bloody puck. Av’s are getting WAY TOO MANY break-aways on a shaky Joseph.

  • Cujo looked shaky early on, but the D was hanging him out to dry and just letting the Av’s walk in on him.  It was a team breakdown in the first few minutes of the game.  He played pretty strong through the rest of the game, getting some more help from his D-men and the rest of the team.

Great come back though on the Wings part to win it in OT.  I thought that first penalty called at the end of the game looked a little weak given all that was happening on the ice in those last few minutes.  The Foote penalty, on the other hand, HAD to be called.  He absolutely clubbed Yzerman right in the face.  Yzerman is not the type of guy who dives or exaggerates either, so you know that had to hurt!

  • Hopefully Hatcher will step up and show the D the way to play. But it’s not just the D men that need to get more physical. So we are back to do the Wings need to add some muscle for the play offs?

I stll think Legace deserved that start.  Cujo needs to step it up and win a game on his own for once.

And Visa Versa, The Wings know the Av’s system pretty well also. Both teams look kind of soft to me, and right now the goaltending is even.

  • I thought that the Wings/Avs games was one of the better overall games that I’ve seen between two teams this season.  They were pretty well matched up, I thought.  I don’t know who would take a best of seven.

Forsberg laid an open ice hit on someone (I think it was Whitney?) that was pretty awesome.  Is there anything more exciting in this game than a clean open ice hit?

  • I actually saw Fish knock a Av on his A$$ in front of Cujo. Sometimes it takes a big game to wake a sleeping giant.

Shanny and Hull have also woke up from their slumber. I think the next game between the two will be more physical and it will get more heated with games 3 and 4.

  • I do agree with you on this Shady….

I expect a more physical game come Saturday.

Once HATCH get’s back in March…expect it even more.

I still say we don’t need a physical anyone…just a larger Center. All our Centers are under 6’2″.

I really think with Mac back and HATCH almost there, we will have all the physical we need. Doesn’t take much to get the rest goin in a game.

I Still would Love to have George Laraque playing for the Wings. It seems foolish not to get the guy. I’m sure Williams, Bootland,Devereaux and Dandy would be more than enough to get the best fighter in the NHL today. If Holland knew how to make a real trade he should be able to get a big Center to go along with the deal.
